My Rating system.

Example: 5 hammers.  Wine, restaurant, etc. was a life-changing experience; regardless of price.

Note: It did not HAVE to be expensive; e.g., the best wine experience I ever had was in a youth hostel in Milan right after I graduated from high school.  It was a Lambrusco, and it was free.

The view in the outdoor garden was EPIC.  You get the idea.

4 Hammers--Hammer Time!  Great oenophilic or gastronomic experience for the right price--or a little cheaper maybe than the right price.

Think a really good, fruit-forward, California chardonnay at, say, $4.99 per bottle.  Mouton Cadet, by Chateau Mouton Rothschild is probably the template of FOUR HAMMER.  Either the red or the white, which are both Bordeaux-style blends, usually at about $9.99 per bottle at a good package store.

A restaurant FOUR HAMMER would probably be a great Mexican or Chinese, with good service.  Like they flambé' the fajitas or something...a great "whole fish" a Chinese, where they de-bone it at your table, would be another example.

Keep readin' Comrade, I shan't steer you wrong...Guerilla Sommelier.
